The full theatrical trailer for The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford has arrived and with the collective buzz on this and 3:10 To Yuma you've almost got to wonder if there's a western revival in the works. This will be premiering at the Toronto Film Festival shortly, which means the city streets will be crowded by thrill seekers having Pitt-induced heart palpitations - and I'm actually quite looking forward to it. The look of the piece is stunning, Pitt seems to quite suit the role and I've always been a fan of Casey Affleck, who I think is one of the better character actors of his generation.

Bring on the Malick inspired goodness. I"m hoping the scars of many pairs of scissors and thread don't marr this nice looking western. And yes, Chopper was a bloody fantastic biopic and an animal break-out (internationally anyway) performance from Eric Bana.

There were some really great moments in that trailer. I mean literally stunning. however, the "gladiator" hand through the reeds shot bothered me.
I like the two main actors a lot and I also like Sam Rockwell equally.

Mileage varies, of course. I didn't make it to the advance screening here in San Francisco but walked in afterwards (I was there for Michael Clayton. The audience for Jesse James was grumbling with the word "boring" popping up in scattered conversations. Sigh. I'll wait for its later distribution.
