We are once again gearing up to assemble as near-to-comprehensive as possible database as possible of trailers and websites for films participating in this year's Toronto International Film Festival and here's one you'll see included. Silk is the latest from François Girard of The Red Violin fame, the story of a silk merchant travelling to Japan for trade and becoming involved in an affair with a local woman. Nothing in particular against Girard or his stars Keira Knightley and Michael Pitt but the big draws in this for me are the older support players: Alfred Molina and Koji Yakusho. Yakusho's performing in English in the trailer - and sounding good doing it - and if he keeps up the high profile appearances - this following close behind Babel - the Japanese actor will eventually, inevitably, end up taking over the world.
