Thanks for the nod. And I'd just like to point out that I think "Dragon Heat" is a retitling (or mis-titling) of "Dragon Squad", the more recent Bey Logan-produced HK actioner. I've been to at least one website that says this, and it would make more sense since "Dragon Heat" is an obscure Ekin Cheng and Qi Shu film.

Mmmm... Fist Of Legend two-disc edition.  I've been waiting for this for ages.

Not to be all negative though, that is one hell of a slate they've got coming up.  If the Shaw titles are not PAL to NTSC conversions *as the HK discs are*, I get all of them, making this the THIRD time I've bought 36TH CHAMBER OF SHAOLIN.  Worth every penny, that one is.

If they give me a really kick ass version of Fist of Legend I immediately forgive the Weinsteins all past wrongs.  God, I love that movie ...

Thanks for the input guys. Either film, Dragon Heat WON'T be making a dent in my wallet. Changes have been made accordingly.

Opus: Amen brother. It seems like a lifetime I have been waiting for someone to give FoL a proper treatment. Fingers crossed.

yeh, i added '36th chamber of shaolin' and 'one armed swordsman' to the dvd release calendar a couple of weeks back. they're two shaw brothers things that really stand out as having been labelled best-of-the-best by so many commenters i've read online - still, i'm not really down with old skool kung fu movies at all, and kind of feel it has a rather old fashioned edge to it as a taste, but that's my own fault for really having had more opportunity to get to grips with regular access to films not released in the UK until recent times...

Having seen a few old Shaws now I can say that 36th Chamber is a bit overrated -- I got the Region 3 when it was released and haven't opened it yet since I've seen it a few times already.

Props to them for even putting out My Young Auntie here; alternates between old fashioned comedy and slapstick and amazing kung fu -- not sure if the new Jet Li fans can handle something like that.

You know what, though?  I'm glad they are finally doing this BUT it was still cheaper in the long run to buy the Region 3s which are usually quite good quality -- $15.99 or less at yes asia with free shipping over $25.

The Weinsteins are responsible for having the original version Drunken Master 2 taken from us westerners and gave us a shitty dubbed and edited version instead. They must have the means to do right by us fans now.
