A teaser for Electroma, the directorial debut by Daft Punk which strangely includes none of their music - has turned up online on YouTube and the band's MySpace site. The story of two robots who want to become human premiered as part of the Cannes Directors Fortnight this year where it received a critical pounding by Variety and was pretty much ignored by everyone else, but the images certainly look nice ...

Thanks to kiddo for the pointer.

I want those helmets.
This movie is just horrible. This is one of the most painfull movie experience in my life. Imagine Van Sant's Gerry, but much lllllllllllllloooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnngggggggeeerrrrr, with only 2 robots who walk in a desert in 70 minutes.
I guess they suck at filmmaking, too.
I'm fucking ready to rock on this.
Daft Punk's Robot Rock is one of the best rockin future videos ever, and their live concert in Cochella that I have watch was freakin amazing- best light show and concert ever.
I believe they are ahead of their times. They are future.
Future they may be, but that teaser was gay.

I tried to like their collaboration with Leiji Matsumoto, because, well, it's just great to see Matsumoto working. STAR BLAZERS changed my life, to put it simply. I wasn't familiar with Daft Punk's music, though I had heard the band name mentioned in passing at some point in my life.
But I just could not get past that music. Listening to it made me feel like Daft Punk was engaged in psyops warfare against me, trying to crush my spirit and destroy my soul. They very nearly succeeded. It's simply torturous. No offense to those who like it, as they might very well be good at what they do, but I cannot stand what it is that they do, so I am clearly not qualified to judge. At least it's not hateful and racist like the subhuman worst of modern country music, but that's really the nicest thing I have to say about Daft Punk.
It is all a long-winded way of saying that if there's none of their music in this new movie, I may check it out. Critics opinions - bah, critics hated FREDDY GOT FINGERED and KNOCK OFF, so #$#@ 'em.
Looks amazing! The bad reviews make me want to see it even more! ^_^
Where the hell can I buy this dvd???
i know where you can buy these helmets. but you won´t be satisfyted, i guess, becaus they cost over 14,000 dollers. do you still want some? go on this page: http://www.ledeffects.com/installations/helmets.htm there you can find these. Ilove the music of daft punk, especially interstella 5555 ^-^.

This film sucks. I saw it on the International Rotterdam Film Festival last winter and it was just a boring movie. I like their music, don't get me wrong, but the movie not at all.
Even the music in the film is not from Daft Punk so, beware. Or just buy it and see it for yourself.
