A small indy production notable to me mainly because it has a role for The Billy Nayer Show frontman Cory McAbee, but also for its salt of the Midwest trailers (previous Twitch Article here). There has been pretty much silence from McAbee for quite a while, than two posts (see here) in the same week. Nice.
The film just won Special Jury Recognition at Slamdance. Here is a synopsis for The Guatemalan Handshake from that festivals website:
"In the confusion following a massive power outage, an awkward demolition derby driver vanishes – leaving behind his friends, family and pregnant girlfriend to solve the mystery. "
