We posted a photo of that ridiculous - in a fantastic way - Limited Edition package for the Japanese release of Yudai Yamaguchi's Cromartie High School a couple weeks back but at the time there was much confusion surrounding the different releases and the prsence of subtitles. Well, I've been waiting for the thing to actually hit shelves to confirm it, but it's out there now and yes, both editions of the film feature English subtitles. This thing is just a deliriously good time, far superior to Yamaguchi's equally bizarre Battlefield Baseball, so much fun that I actually dropped the coin to blind-purchase the limited edition robot-can hoping beyond hope that the subtitles would be on there. This is one that got edged off my year end best of by a hair, literally one of the last to get cut.
