Ahhh... Norway. So beautiful and fascinating... and now even full of Korean films.

The latest MK International newsletter just pointed me to a new film festival in Oslo completely dedicated to Korean films, organized by the Norwegian Film Institute in collaboration with MK International. The lineup of the first ever Oslo Korean Film Festival features some of the best Korean films of the last 3-4 years, and some nice surprises, like the acclaimed documentary 송환 (Repatriation) and Song Il-Gon's 마법사(들) (Magician(s)).

Here's some of the highlights: Im Pil-Sung's 남극일기 (Antarctic Journal); Yoon Jong-Chan's 소름 (Sorum), a bunch of Park Chan-Wook films including 친절한 금자씨 (Sympathy For Lady Vengeance); Jung Ji-Woo's amazing 해피엔드 (Happy End), Kim Ki-Duk, Lee Chang-Dong, Kim Ji-Woon, Im Sang-Soo, Jang Sun-Woo...

You can check the Official Site, where you'll find Schedule information, a short introduction of all the films, and more. If you live in Norway or will be there between January 27th and February 19th, this is a nice opportunity to catch up on some recent Korean Cinema on the big screen. Directors Im Pil-Sung and Song Il-Gon have been invited.
