Despairing of ever seeing any of the Shaw Brothers titles Miramax snapped up and buried a few years back? Well, continue despairing on that front, but Image Entertainment has just picked up rights to thirty others. There's no complete title list yet, but The Shadow Boxer, Heaven and Hell and The Magic Blade are all included in the deal. No word yet on when the domestic DVDs will roll out but Image is a company rather more likely to actually release the things they buy than Miramax has proven to be.
From the pages of Screendaily, to Jiangtou to me.

Great news. I've been renting the region encoded Shaw reissues from Nicheflix. Hopefully Image will give them similar treatment.
HUMAN LANTERNS is a go as well. It's been 'unofficially' confirmed at another forum.
