Got word straight from the source on the DVD release for Hungary's brilliant Nyocker today. The Hungarian DVD releases on November 15th and will include an extended cut of the film along with extensive behind the scenes information. Alas, what it will not include are English subtitles. But don't you fret ... whilst racking up major festival awards in Ottawa, Sitges and the Ukraine following a succesful appearance in Toronto - Kurt's review here - the film found a home with the UK's Parasol Pecadillo and will be receiving a UK DVD release in the new year. And for those who had trouble keeping up with the rapid fire subtitles that DVD release will reportedly include an English dub. I'm trying to track down specs on that now.

Check the official English language District website here.

Oh, I wouldn't want the job to re-write all the hip-hop lyrics to make the dub line up with the lip movements! That will be a LOT of Work!!

But I do think the dubbed film will make for a less 'eyeball straining' viewing experience. (For the record, I'm not a subtitle purist...I don't mind dubbed animation, because the original dialogue was 100% post (or pre-)recorded in the first place.
