Ooooh, now this looks fun ...
Kidan is a sort of horror film that you don't see come out of Japan all that often for some reason, a well budgeted good ol' fashioned possession flick, chock full of crucifiction and other Christian imagery. Which, come to think of it, is probably why you don't see this sort of film come out of Japan all that often what withit being probably the least Christianized nation in Asia. But anyway ... lots of effects in the 'creepy but fun' school, with a general tone that reminds me a lot of Tsukamoto's Hiruko the Goblin, only with better production values.

*** UPDATE ***
Whoopsie ... golly if The Gomorahizer didn't post this exact same trailer a few days back. What can I say ... I'm a little dense sometimes. It does explain why it seemed familiar, though. But trust me, it's good. If you didn't click through the first time 'round, do it now.

had a little nose around, and it seems to be about a search for a secret underground christian village mentioned in bible scriptures... thats the vague impression i get. could be written by marboroshi daijirou ( 諸星大二郎 ) .
