For those who have not been paying attention Rampo Jigoku is a new adaptation of four short stories by Japanese writer Edogawa Rampo. Starring Tadanobu Asano (who also stars in bloody well every important Japanese film of the past decade ... I exaggerate, but not by much) and Ryuhei Matsuda (Nine Souls, Blue Spring) the film has generated a huge amount of buzz and it's easy to see why from the visuals ... beautiful, whimsical, disturbing stuff ...
And now thanks to the good people at Horizon - the film's international sales agent - we can read as we ogle and have a fighting chance of understanding what's going on here. Yep, it's subtitled and downloadable and absolutely beautiful.
Check this earlier post for full synopses of the film's four stories.

Nice! I can't wait to see the full film. (Although it really doesn't take much to get me interested in an Asano film.)
I know what you mean! Everyone's a little gay for the Asano ... And Ryuhei Matsuda, too! My supposed sexual orientation may not survive this movie.
