Now this is sweet ...

For the past few years the Toronto Film Festival has made a point of having at least one family friendly film as one of their Gala presentations and this year that film will be Nick Park's Wallace And Gromit: The Curse of The Were-Rabbit.

But wait! It gets better! Park will be at the festival for the Gala presentation but you don't typically get a lot of access to the Gala guests. This year will be different, though ... For a good while now TIFF has run an industry only program titled Mavericks that sits film makers down for lengthy moderated panel discussions. Not only is Park a part of the Mavericks program this year but this will also be the first year that the program is opened up to the public. So if you love Nick Park like I love Nick Park there's a major treat in store ...

Now I've just got to weasel myself a couple of Gala tickets so I can bring the boy ...

And by 'boy', he means me.

It saddens me that one the greatest cinematic heroes of all times Shaun the Sheep will not be appearing in this movie :(

Would it make you happy again if you knew that Shaun was getting his own show on the BBC?

I heard about it. It's coming out "sometime" in 2006 and most likely will air first in the UK and "eventually" in the the U.S. Nevertheless, 40 episodes is quite a respectable treatment for such a profoundly complex protagonist ;)
