Oh, my. Please let this one be true ...
The Associated Press is running a story saying that Hong Kong management company Gold Label is putting together an as yet uintitled HK$50 million action film to star Tony Jaa and Wu Jing with acclaimed fight choreographer Yuen Woo Ping at the helm. Peter Chan will produce.
Now, I have no idea how solid any of this is as the article states that nobody has signed on the dotted line just yet but this could be pretty sweet. Wu Jing is about to make a major impact through his roles in Sha Po Lang and Seven Swords and is a fantastically gifted martial artist and the idea of two such talented martial artist squaring off in a kung fu vs muay thai match is pretty exciting. And to all those who are thinking Yuen's involvement means wires o' plenty, I have three words for you: Fist of Legend. Yuen can make it go any which way he pleases and both of these guys have already proven they don't need wires or stunt trickery to make things go.

I'm awestruck. This has to be true. Could you imagine what this movie would be like. And I agree about Fist of Legend. It's a masterpiece. Would you believe I read that Yuen Wo Ping doesn't like wires. They say that once the new-wave wire-fu stuff came around he had to adapt. I hope this happens.
Whoa. I really hope this is true cos it would be sooo very awesome. A martial artist as talented Tony Jaa starring in a Yuen Woo Ping movie could only result in mind-blowing coolness. BTW Wu Jing wasn't in Seven Swords. I think he's been announced as starring in the TV series that's currently in development- hence the confusion?
You just made my day!
In the Immortal Words of Keanu: "WHOA"!
Big smiles all around :)
AWWWW MAN, If this is true i believe this will reign king of all that is holy in martial arts film making. Please God i pray that this is true. I can't even begin to express my love of the powerful and just plain damn sweet style Tony Jaa brings to action film. He is hands down my new favorite actoin hero, plus is it just me or does he exactly resemble Bruce Lee? he is the only person i have seen that could possibly actually be Bruce Lee Re-Incarnate. I can't express that enough! If only he were alive today to see Just how much he has single handedly inspired so many people including Tony Jaa. Any thoughts on this y'all? Anyway i just had to add to your guys comments. please drop me a line at krak3r420dude@yahoo.com on this if u feel like it. -J
