Even after being rated 18, even with the competition of 웰컴 투 동막골 (Welcome To Dongmakgol), Park Chan-Wook's 친절한 금자씨 (Sympathy For Lady Vengeance) keeps making headlines for its impressive box office runs. After 7 days, the film has sold a total of 2,100,000 tickets nationwide. A similar result was achieved by mammoth blockbusters like Lord of The Rings: Return of The King and 실미도 (Silmido), and the film hasn't had that big drop in online presales many people (myself included) predicted because of "Dongmakgol"'s debut.

Park Shin-Yang will make a return to the big screen with the film 컨테이너의 남자 (The Container Man), after a pause of 12 months. To prepare for the role, he's been training in various dance styles (tango and cha cha cha in particular) with the dance team from 댄서의 순정 (Innocent Steps) for 3 hours a day, 3 days a week. On top of that, he's also been receiving dialogue training to improve his Busan Dialect. The film will start filming this coming August 17 in Haeundae (Busan).

홀리데이 (Holiday) finished its 2 year long pre-production, and will start shooting on August 8. The human drama will star Lee Sung-Jae, Choi Min-Soo and Kang Sung-Jin. The film, written by 실미도 (Silmido)'s Kim Hee-Jae, will be directed by Yang Yoon-Ho of 바람의 파이터 (Fighter in The Wind) and 리베라메 (Libera Me).

Choi Ji-Woo's latest project, 연리지 (Yeonriji) had its presentation today, announcing it's about to sign the highest foreign sales/production investment contract in Korean Cinema history (with Japan, of course). So far, the highest contract went to Lee Myung-Se's 형사 (Duelist) for 5 Billion Won. The film was expected to release simultaneously in Japan and Korea in March 2006, but was later changed to the beginning of 2006 for Korea, September of the same year for Japan. Jin Hee-Kyung was also added to the cast, and shooting will start on August 7.
