We reported a while back that the good people at Media Blasters had licensed the entire run of Zatoichi television shows for DVD release and the first volume now has a release date. Look for the first four episode release - A Challenge of Chance, The Flower that Bloomed with the Lullaby, A Memorial Day and The Bell of Life, and The Kannon Statue That Was Tied - to hit shelves November 29th.

I'm trying to get specs and the final artwork, so hopefully we'll have those to share soon ...

Does anybody know if the show's any good?

dude, it's incredible. Takeshi's movie was a real botch of some of the best samurai action ever. The episodes are definitely individually worthy of the title of "movie."

this is the worry : originally announced as season boxsets which would have been cheap in comparison. this is anime territory : too stretched out and overpriced.
