I don't know how many Scots we have reading the site, but if you're out there here's something to pencil in on the ol' calendar ...

The Center For Contemporary Arts in Glasgow is hosting a series of six vintage Mexican sci-fi films, all shot between 1945 and 1966 and all restored to their former glory. The screening series funs from July 14-16th and includes The Stronger Sex, The Aztec Mummy Vs. The Human Robot, The Monsters' Ship, Planet of the Female Invaders, Santo Vs. The Martian Invasion, and Spiders From Hell.

I don't know about you but I'd be okay with a Planet of Female Invaders. Could be quite nice, actually.

Anyway ... click here for detailed info on all the films and here for the screening schedule.

Thanks to Mathew for the heads-up.

I seriously can't believe that I move to Toronto (home of the greatest film festival in the world, possibly) 6 days before the greatest film festival ever to play in Glagow ever plays. It's seriously genius. MEXICAN SCI FI! Who knew?
