VINCENT is Tim Burton's ode to the legendary Mr. Price by way of Dr. Seuss and Edgar Allen Poe. It certainly showcases many of Burton's trademarks (The gothic style and gallows humour, horizontal stripes on everything, German-expressionistic sets) familiar in everything from Edward Scissorhands and Beetle Juice to the upcoming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and The Corpse Bride.

Download Vincent and a read the accompanying details of Burton's early short-film phase at Greylodge.org.

Tracey, if you hunt around on Ebay (or Bittorrent) someone has nicely encouded the Laserdisc version of the original (un-modified in any way) Trilogy to DVD...Better than VHS, but I'm sure miles worse in sound/video quality to the recent DVDs...but its tolerable as it is the films you remember, not the revisionist ones.

Thanks Kurt - that's a fine idea. I had quite a scare last night at the sounds Empire was making as it was rewinding.

Is it just me or does this Vincent story kind of remind u of the Corpse Bride? Part of the narraration from Vincent says "He saw Abarcrombie his zombie slave, and heard his wife from beyond the grave. She spoke from her coffin, and made ghoulish demands, While through cracking walls reached her skeleton hands." The name of the guy in Corpse Bride is Victor and this boy's name is Vincent talking about a dead wife (corpse bride) Idk maybe its just me but I thought I saw kinda of a resembalnce between the two films.

Yep, site is pretty dated at this point. I don't own the DVD so can't really help you in that department. You may wish to try the forum (link at top of page under masthead).

I've noticed people getting confused about the DVD material... why not take time to search all of the material... takes a while but it's worth it. Oh, and gabriela, I have both Frankenweenie and Vincent on my DVD version, but by no means will I destroy my VHS version!!!
