Man ... it seems like just yesterday when I was commenting on John Woo spreading himself too thin. Wait a minute ... it was ...
Well, here are some more Woo projects in the works ... in an article in today's Screen Daily a passing reference is made to a quartet of French film Woo is remaking including Jean-Pierre Melville's Le Cercle Rouge, 1968's Adieu L'Ami, Rene Clement's Rider On The Rain and Robin Davis' Le Choc.
Le Cercle Rouge has been in the works for a little while now and is apparently a key influence on Woo's own work so many are looking forward to his remake. The article says he will be 'overseeing' the remakes of the other three titles, so I'm guessing that Woo will be serving in a producer's role on those. The man's getting to be almost as busy as Luc Besson ...

Variety's got more on this here. Apparently he's dropped the Spy Hunter film ...
part of me just wants him to go away...None of the projects he is announcing are terribly exciting and the man hasn't made a great film since Hard Target (and most would disagree with me on that one, probably going back to Hard Boiled)...But the man ruled the late 1980;s early 1990s.
I've got a major weak spot for Face/Off ... that boat stunt is one of the best things ever. Obviously stunt doubles, but who cares ... everything since then has been dodgy, though ...
I'd still like to see the original cut of Hard Target come out somewhere ... apparently it was a hard NC17 originally ...
