Factotum Trailer

Ooooh ... now here's one I've been looking for ever since I saw it listed in this year's Director's Fortnight at Cannes. Factotum just might be the best American independent film made this year if not for the fact that it was made by a Norweigian. Stars Matt Dillon - looking better than he has in years - the always welcome Lili Taylor and Marisa Tomei, based on a story by Charles Bukowski. This one's not work safe. In downloadable Quicktime here.

i highly recommend Bent Hamers two previous films, Kitchen Stories and Eggs. Fun, fun, fun.

I've heard nothing but good stuff about Kitchen Stories ... didn't realize it was the same guy ...

Well, i've seen Factotum and it is not really that great. Quite boring actually, and kind of messy direction. Not at all like Hamers earlier films. He usually have such a funny naive look at things which is not at all comparable with Bukowski.

I can't wait to see this movie. I just think that Matt Dillon is too much of a pretty boy to play Bukowski. I've been reading the Buko for 7 years now. This movie is a big deal to me. They better do a good job.
