The Cannes Film Festival kicks off soon and the stars of the film will meet with journalists from around the world on May 12 to view 15 minutes of Chen Kaige's film, The Promise. The film took three years to complete. The Promise is a romantic story about the destined love of the legendary slave Kunlun [Jang Dong-keon] and the Chinese empress Kyungsung [Jang Baek-ji]. As it was a joint-production between China and Korea it will open simultaneously in both countries in December.
Korean actor Jang Dong-keon [Taegukgi, The Coast Guard and 2009 Lost Memories] will participate in the sales promotion party attended by film marketing and purchasing specialists. All attending will view the 15 minute excerpt from the film as well as six stills, made by Japanese manga artist Masago Kimiya and costumes and props from the film will be shown for the first time. Also attending the event will be Hiroyuki Sanada [The Last Samurai], Nicholas Tse [New Police Story and Enter the Phoenix] and Jang Baek-ji.

Sorry Mack, those pictures looked nice and all, but they did mean and terrible things to the menu bar on the right. They had to go.
Jang Baek-ji?
That would be the Korean reading of her name... she's more familiarly known as Cecilia Cheung ;)
