Willis and Stallone in Inglorious Bastards?

What with all of Quentin's talk of shooting a straight up martial arts film next I had thought that Inglorious Bastards - his Dirty Dozen styled war flick - was in danger of getting bumped aside. Apparently not. The Hollywood Stock Exchange is reporting that Tarantino is eyeing up Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone for parts ... Willis makes perfect sense and, given their history together, I'm surprised it's taken this long for his name to come up. Stallone is a bit more surprising, but think about it ... aging 70's icon who has completely fallen out of favor with the industry ... Tarantino never likes to work with people like that, now does he? Apparently Adam Sandler has a part if he wants it as well, which means this will pretty much have one of the strangest casts ever ...

i still dont get how he would get away with using the title from another film like that?! not only is it likely to have to change cos of the B-word, but stealing a title!?!?!?!

i still dont get how he can still make a movie about anything he wants while mirimax sits on gilliam (who is obviously the better of the two).

The short answer on Gilliam - who I totally agree is the superior film maker, though I also like Tarantino an awful lot - is that Quentin's films make a lot more money. Terry is a bit of a dicier prospect and he's so visual that he always wants in the 50-70 million range for his budgets ... if he did like Lynch and made films in the 5-10 range he could crank 'em out non-stop ...

As for the title on this one, I don't remember exactly what it is but I'm pretty sure this film has some sort of direct tie in to the original ... I'll have to do some digging but I'm pretty sure it's either a remake or a new film sourced from the same material ... I'm not sure if Bastards is on the list of big no-no words, though ... Mario Van Peebles got away with Badassss!, though on a pretty small release scale ...

Badasss is a fantastic film, by the way, both as a piece of history and some mighty entertaining stuff ...

BADASSSSS! has been on my list of 'to see' films for quite a while...Time to update my Ziplist priorities...Of course, i would like to watch the new one back to back with Melvin's Sweet Sweetback.

Maybe Tarantino is just a really big fan of Death Race 2000. (That film starred Stallone and David Carradine.)

I'd love to see Stallone in a QT flick.
