I might be alone (I'm leaning towards not) in thinking this maybe one of those really bad ideas, like Greedo shooting first, but "Son of the Mask"? Dang.
Keeping in line with such classics as Baby Geniuses 1 and 2, we have a talking, bouncing, flying, prank playing baby on our hands here. Jamie Kennedy, Alan Cumming (not you too!) and Ben Stein are in this one and I'd just like to say, for the record, I am skipping this movie no matter what. Like I skipped Shall We Dance, The Wedding Planner, Enough and Angel Eyes (yes, I know, they are all J. Lo movies), my ass will be planted firmly at home, or infront of this thing when others partake in this mutation.
Wanna see for yourself. Here's the trailer for "Son of the Mask", but don't say I didn't warn you.

I took a gander out of sheer curiosity... man, I really miss those IQ points.
'Children's movie' does not need to equal 'crap'. In fact it's generally a good idea if it doesn't. Speaking as a father, kids are pretty discerning about what is good and what isn't ... low grade stuff won't pass muster with them just because they're young. And if the parents can't stand to sit through it there's no way the kids are going in the first place ...
No one said it had to...and pre-judging a movie before you see it is just wrong. Maybe it looks like crap, but it good very well be, at least, entertaining.
I've said it before and I will say it again, The idea of a mask Sequel is like makeing Dumb and Dumberer..only dumberer.
KuRt.
I'm with todd here that childrens movie is not an excuse of just pushing ot crap. I don't think it's positive for children that we don't really take them seriously or help them develop. Also, on the pre-judging side, I think we've all seen enough movies here that it doesn't take a genius to come to the conclusion that if the trailer is horrible then the film pretty much will be too. THere's room for error here but I think we're pretty much safe on our bet for "son of the mask". just my thought.
