Pathfinder Pictures has announced that they will be releasing Takashi Miike's eminently strange yakuza film Gozu on DVD in North America on November 23rd. I caught this film at last year's Toronto Film Festival and ended up seated next to the film's local sales agent who spent the entire screening just shaking his head muttering, "This is so messed up ... this is so messed up ..." and he wasn't kidding. this film is a GEM. superb... contains one of my favourite scenes in a miike movie, at the scrapyard... watch it and find out what i mean... cool movie. and so many dvds of miike films this half of the year...
