Dave Canfield here with a new podcast called Twitching Ears. I hope to run it with fair regularity. It will be a mix of interviews, dvd and film reviews/news and maybe even a little toy and collectibles coverage. This first installment features an interview with Alan Ball whose new show for HBO, True Blood, and new movie Towelhead, have polarized viewers and drawn protests from a wide variety of groups. I found Ball to be articulate, very aware of how his work was percieved and very concerned to leave a legacy worthy of his considerable talents. 1 Oscar for American Beauty and a slew of various awards for creating, writing and producing Six Feet Under later he's on the right track even if his characters are usually on the wrong one.
