Say what you will about the movie [and you did] you still cannot argue with the enormous success of the third and final film in the Star Wars prequel [$375,876,648 domestic/$790,194,948 worldwide]. 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and Lucasfilm will release a double disc DVD of the movie on November 1, 2005.
The pickins are slim however. But of course with word of a 6 disc box set [scroll down the link - you kind of knew it would happen with the way Lucasfilm has done things in the past] you cannot expect to get everything all at once. Fox Home Entertainment president Mike Dunn said that this holiday season will be first time all six movies in the "Star Wars" franchise will be available on DVD.
Here's what we know:
- Full-length documentary produced by Lucasfilm
- Two new featurettes, one exploring the prophecy of Anakin Skywalker as the Chosen One and the other on the movie's stunts
- 15-part collection of Lucasfilm "Web documentaries."
- Commentary track with director George Lucas and members of the production crew
- Exclusive fully-produced deleted scenes
- You should expect additional extras to include trailers and TV spots, photo galleries
- You'll also get two playable levels of the Star Wars Battlefront II videogame
- Audio will be Dolby Digital 5.1 EX
via The Digital Bits, Hollywood Reporter and FilmRot.
The movie had stunts? Where? Every time someone moved they were replaced by something digital ...
just wait until 2007 and buy the 30th anniversary dvd which will most likely contain all 6 films.
