Score With Costa Rican Football Comedy ITALIA 90

Todd Brown, Founder and Editor
Costa Rican writer-director Miguel Gomez has been a great favorite in these parts thanks to his comedy infused genre pieces first person horror El Sanatorio and apocalyptic laugher The End, and he's headed in a slightly different direction with his next feature, the upcoming Italia 90. Yes, the comedy is still there - I suspect it always will be with Gomez - but this time out he's offering up a based on true life tale of the first ever Costa Rican football squad to make it to the World Cup.

The first trailer for the film has arrived online and while there are no subtitles on the current version it's not at all hard to see that Gomez is in fine form here. Check it out below.
