First INTERSTELLAR Trailer: Christopher Nolan Sends Farmer Matthew McConaughey Into Space

Peter Martin, Managing Editor
We're all going to die unless Matthew McConaughey saves us.

The first full trailer for Christopher Nolan's Interstellar identifies a crisis on Earth that has led former pilot and engineer Cooper, played by a weathered-looking McConaughey, to become a farmer. Now the farmer (and family man) must return to his piloting and engineering ways in order to join a mission to save mankind, as explained by a very grave Michael Caine.

No doubt there will be more to the story than that, and there will be future trailers that expand upon the roles played by Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, Ellen Burstyn, and Bill Irwin, but for now, there is Matthew McConaughey and his daughter, torn apart by the farmer's desire to save mankind.

Interstellar is due in cinemas in November.
