Get Your First Taste Of The Live Action ATTACK ON TITAN!

Todd Brown, Founder and Editor
Even though the Higuchi Shinji directed live action version of popular manga and anime Attack On Titan will not hit screens until 2015 you can get your first taste of his work now. No, it's not a trailer or even anything that will actually appear in the finished film. But it is indeed a live action Titan wreaking havoc thanks to an advertising arrangement struck between the film and Subaru.

In the lead up to the film Higuchi has shot a new Titan themed television commercial for the auto maker and the results have been released online along with a good dose of behind the scenes footage showing how they're bringing these beasts to life. Take a look below!

Lol,the thing that made me laugh about this little clip, is the fact that its a Subaru Add xD

  • Jerry Sköld

Hmm. Not sure about the emphasis on the titans as mutant-monsters rather than the almost serene humanoids that made up the bulk of them in the anime.

Michael Bay needs to adapt US version asap!

The effects in Japanese films can be hit or miss, but this looks really good. I like how they used real people instead of cg models(except for, I think, the last one, which needs cg), and they captured the blubberous, spastic movement of the titans quite well. My interest in this movie has shot up several notches.

  • Higuchi is one of the best effects guys in the biz over there, and a good director to boot. He did the effects on the recent - and really good - trilogy of Gamera films.

Had similar hesitations about what the Titans would end up looking like, but after seeing people play the titans, I'm pretty impressed.

Now we wait to see how the maneuvering gear plays live-action.

The colossal titan seen at the end isn't CGI, it's a puppet.

    Really? Cool.
