Watch The Trailer For French Sci-fi Short ON/OFF

Andrew Mack, Contributing Writer
Thierry Lorenzi's sci-fi short On/Off premiered at the Paris International Film Festival in November. We have the trailer to share with you.

Obsessed by a mysterious voice message, astronaut Meredith will face its paradoxical condition in order to stay connected to his humanity.

On/Off is the the culmination of three years of work and though the trailer may be vague in the message what is clear is that the finished project looks great. The visual effects come with the help of Montreal based effects company RODEO FX who have done work on projects like Pacific Rim

Comparisons to that other floating in space film of recent memory will be obvious but we would like to see how Lorenzi's vision plays out in its short run time. Further reading into the short film website reveals this...

What separates human intelligence and artificial intelligence? What is the boundary between reality and dream? Am I alive or dead? ... And if the answers to these questions were, first and foremost, electric? It is in these questions that ON/OFF directed by Thierry Lorenzi draws its plot...

As sci-fi short films are wont to due On/Off would appear to be taking a more philosophical approach.
