Crime, Thrills, Australia: Meet Simon Pegg And KILL ME THREE TIMES

Peter Martin, Managing Editor

Simon Pegg looks quite the dapper assassin in the first official photo from Australian thriller Kill Me Three Times. The film is finishing up production under the direction of Kriv Stenders.

Pegg stars alongside Alice Braga, Teresa Palmer, Sullivan Stapleton, and Luke Hemsworth. From the official synopsis:

The film takes place in a sun drenched Australia surfing town. Braga plays a young singer, and is the thread that binds three tales of murder, blackmail and revenge. Pegg plays a mercurial assassin, who is hired by her wealthy husband but there is more than one person gunning for her. Stapleton plays a gambling addict that attempts to pay off his debts through a risky life insurance scam, Palmer plays a small town Lady Macbeth who masterminds the scheme. Luke Hemsworth portrays Braga's love interest, a local surfer.

The film has secured distribution in Australia and New Zealand via Hopscotch Entertainment One. Sales activity for the rest of the world is launching at the American Film Market this week.

For expert advice on the director, we turn to our own Simon de Bruyn: "For those who are not aware of Stenders, his back catalogue is really worth checking out. I like to call him the Danny Boyle of Australia due to his penchant for dabbling in drastically different genres and not being afraid to revert to lower budget films in between bigger ones. His last film Red Dog was a monster success in Australia, taking $21m at the local box office alone, however only two films previously he made the experimental Boxing Day, which utilised only seven or eight long takes to capture a tense story set over one summer afternoon."
