The Helicarrier Eats Dirt In The First Trailer for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

Joe Johnstone's first solo outing for the Captain left me a little cold; the period detail was great, the rest not so much. The Avengers Assemble saw Chris Evan's Steve Rogers become a little more likeable as the butt of the cooler Avengers' jokes. This... well he's still the straight guy to Black Widow's more droll antics.

Whatever your views on this strand of the Marvel universe this looks reassuringly portentous, with a healthy dose of geek-friendly banter.

Plus, I'd watch Robert Redford in anything. And the helicarrier eats dirt.

I hope this movie adequately explains what Cap was doing when the American President was kidnapped in "Iron Man 3." I mean seriously, the one superhero with "America" in his name doesn't try to rescue the President?

Funny, I thought the opposite of the first film. It took a difficult character, made extremely likeable and human, and delivered a near perfect superhero movie. While some of the other Marvel films were fun, The First Avenger was the first one that really connected. It also was the one thing I thought Wheaton got wrong in the Avengers flick--the Steve Rogers characters regressed into what I hoped he wouldn't be.

This trailer, on the other hand...can't wait for the movie.

    It's Whedon not Wheaton.

Really? I think that looks better than... pretty much all the marvel movies before it. It looks like with this and thor 2 they are going to get more interesting
