Watch Donnie Yen Kick Some Serious Ass In A New SPECIAL ID Clip

In the Information age where even the smallest news detail is exposed online before a film is released, there are some things that are better left unseen at the risk of spoiling the element of surprise. However, being an eager action fan for all things involving Donnie Yen putting the beatdown in true bad ass fashion, I couldn't help share this fight scene clip for Clarence Fok's Special ID.  It features Yen laying a path of destruction on a gang of thugs in a crammed kitchen and it looks brutally awesome.  The other two major fight set-piece is at the mahjong parlors and a broken highway bridge.

Among the other action highlights beside the fight scenes is the insane vehicular mayhem.  The car stunts are coordinated by Bruce Law who recently finished work on The Raid 2 (aka Berandal) and if the latest behind the scenes video is any indication, the car chase scene looks to be just as thrilling as the fights.

The theatrical release date in China/Hong Kong is on October 18th.  You'll find the two videos embedded below.

I like almost all of Yen Movies (and series). For this movie, I suggest you to not hope this be another SPL or Flashpoint.

For Martial Arts series, u can watch "Fist Of Fury" Kind familiar eh?. Also "The Kung Fu Master". I really recommend the last.

The others is Yen as a cop. "File Noir" and "Flying Squads".

Something about the choreography reminds of the late 80's HK stuff mixed with Flashpoint era Donnie Yen. Looking good.

This looks so incredibly bad ass. I've never wanted to see an Asian film in cinema this bad. And of course I've planned my HK trip a week too early, haha. Will leave 14th :( I hope I can catch it in Shanghai, but that will be the dubbed version, no doubt. Aaargh!
