Trailer For Nacho Vigalondo's OPEN WINDOWS Traps Sasha Grey and Elijah Wood In Tech-Nightmare

Brian Clark, European Editor
I suppose it was inevitable that some confident, ambitious director would eventually make a movie set entirely in different windows of a computer screen. Fortunately, first one to the punch is the endlessly innovative Nacho Vigalondo, and, as anyone familiar with his work (Timecrimes, Extraterrestrial) would hope, it looks like a lot of fun in its own ridiculous way.

The plot involves Elijah Wood as an obsessed fan of a famous actress (Sasha Grey) who gets more intertwined with her than he ever dreamed when a villain starts threatening to kill her on webcam if Wood doesn't comply with his orders. My first impression is that it looks equal parts tense and silly in a Speed or Phone Booth type of way -- but check the trailer below and judge for yourself!

    Yeah, but it could work, though........Grey seems to be doing her finest dramatic performances to date(yeah, she probably did some acting in Slut Stories: Sasha Grey) even though the storyline........could be less than stellar.

    Either way, it does look entertaining, the kind of voyeuristic stuff that Brian De Palma makes........could work.

    Thanks Mr Clark.

  • Seriously? Anyone who would take this idea seriously isn't to be taken seriously. What a rubbish idea for a flick!

    I like Vigalondo's Timecrimes a lot;
    I love Sasha Grey;
    I think Woods is a decent actor (nothing great, he can do just 2 expressions, the "good guy" and the "scared", but they are both fine);

    So i think i will see this when it comes out

    Elijah Woods hacks an open Windows to see Sasha Grey's Apples

    This looks interesting and I love the team behind this (Elijah Wood, Nacho Vigalondo and Sasha Grey, who is actually a pretty good actress, just watch The Girlfriend Experience) so I have to watch it.

    this looks phenomenally stupid, but I have faith in Nacho

  • Brian Clark

    It does. But I'm hoping it will be phenomenally stupid in the best way.

  • benu

    Indeed, phenomenally stupid is far, far more entertaining than just plain stupid. And who doesn't love that big 'W' made up of open windows above the city?

  • I LOVE Timecrimes, but about this, I have concerns...

  • pootietang

    I'm intrigued. Nacho is super creative, can't wait to watch!
