Aksel Hennie Sinks To The Depths In Full Trailer For PIONEER

Todd Brown, Founder and Editor
With Norwegian star Aksel Hennie riding a wave of international popularity thanks to the success of Headhunters and soon to make his US debut opposite Dwayne Johnson in Brett Ratner's Hercules, there's a great deal of curiosity around upcoming thriller Pioneer.

Though very much a Norwegian production - it's from the producers of Headhunters and director of the original version of Insomnia - there's an inherently international feel to this one thanks to its multi-national cast and extensive use of English. So if you're wondering whether Hennie will have what it takes to cross over, this is the one that will give you your first real answer to that question.

PIONEER is set in the early 80's, at the beginning of the Norwegian Oil Boom. Enormous oil and gas deposits are discovered in the North Sea and the authorities aim to bring the oil ashore through a pipeline from depths of 500 meters. A professional diver, Petter, obsessed with reaching the bottom of the Norwegian Sea has the discipline, strength and courage to take on the world's most dangerous mission. But a sudden, tragic accident changes everything. Petter is sent on a perilous journey where he loses sight of who's pulling the strings. Gradually he realizes that he is in way over his head and that his life is at stake.
The first teaser for this one arrived in March and has now been followed by an extended trailer. Take a look below.
