, Founder and Editor
Hey, you! Do you want to watch Police Story with Jackie Chan? Literally, I mean. Do you want to watch Police Story with Jackie Chan? How about Election with Johnnie To? The TIFF Bell Lightbox is about to kick off their mammoth Chinese film retrospective and Twitch is beyond proud to present the Swordsmen, Gangsters And Ghosts: The Evolution Of Chinese Genre Cinema sidebar. And, believe me, you are going to want to buy tickets for a lot of these events early because they will sell out.

What's coming? Hit this link for the full breakdown but we're talking about your chance to see aboslute classics on the big screen, many of them introduced by their creators. Jackie Chan will be on hand to personally introduce Drunken Master, Drunken Master 2 and Police Story. Johnnie To will introduce Election and Election 2. Nansun Shi will introduce screenings of A Chinese Ghost Story and A Better Tomorrow. and this is just scratching the surface.

We got your Bruce Lee, your Jet Li, your Tsui Hark and Johnny Mak. We got your Lau Kar-Leung and King Hu. We've got Stephen Chow and Chang Cheh. If these aren't your favorite films already then they're damn well going to be by the time we're done.

We also, incidentally, have this absolutely gorgeous poster art by Justin Erickson of Phantom City Creative, and you can click the image in the gallery below for a much larger version.

The series kicks off next week with A Chinese Ghost Story so head on over to the official website, buy your tickets early, and come out often!
