RAKE Greenlit As Fox Drama Series
Rake is a TV program I've written about a few times here on Twitch, both in my best of 2012 list and in following the progress of Sony Pictures Television picking up the original Australian series and developing it as a pilot for Fox starring Greg Kinnear.
In news that isn't too surprising as the project was classed as a 'put pilot' from the beginning, Fox has asked for a full series of Rake for 2014.
Rake focuses on the life of criminal defense lawyer Keegan Joye (Kinnear), which is chaotic and often comedic. As rake means "a fashionable or wealthy man of dissolute or promiscuous habits" that gives you some idea of the type of character he is. I must say that in searching for an image online for this story, I discovered that almost every photo of Kinnear is very clean cut. Rake will most certainly change that.
Rake is one of four series Fox has ordered for their 2014 slate of programming, including a sci-fi series from Bad Robot starring Dredd himself Karl Urban. Here's the full list courtesy of THR.
