North Korea, Espionage and Slapstick in Main Trailer for SECRETLY GREATLY

Director Jang Chul-seo is about to reveal his sophomore film following his incendiary debut Bedevilled. But anyone looking for more of the same would be advised to temper their expectations.

Secretly Greatly, coming out June 5th in Korea, follows three top North Korean operatives, barely out of diapers, as they are posted undercover in the South and begin to lead real lives as the teenagers they should be. Time goes by and eventually their orders from across the border do come, but have their loyalties remained?

Jang, a former protege of Kim Ki-duk, has made the much-coveted leap to commercial filmmaking. Instead of the hard-hitting and skillfully crafted revenge thriller he produced the first time around, here he has been handed the reigns of a genre hopping coming-of-age North Korean spy comedy thriller. Secretly Greatly seems to be a polished production and with Jang on board, hopefully it will become more than the sum of its parts.
