Twitchvision: Talking G.I. JOE: RETALIATION, THE HOST, and Easter/Passover Movies

Jason Gorber, Featured Critic
While I had to skip a press screening of the latest in the G.I. Joe franchise because of this week's "Seder" thing, I ended up paying good money to see The Rock fight some bumblebees (really, it was kind of hard to pay attention to what was going on after a while). While I enjoyed it, especially the protracted Ninjas-on-a-mountain bit, the same could not be said for The Host (which I kind of disliked, as can be seen here).

Plus, brief shout-outs about picking fun Passoveaster™ films to watch during this Equinox-ish time period, including Martin Scorsese's stunning Last Temptation of Christ, Charlton Heston in The Ten Commandments, and, of course, the sheer magnificence that is Jesus Christ Superstar.

"Hey GI Joe where are you going wit that gun in your hand......"

It´very nice choice I think......but I didn´t get that thing about Pasolini and Scorsese....are you saying The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) is a remake, Mr Gorber...?

Because, The Last Temptation of Christ (1988) is based on a novel by Nikos Kazantzakis, a book I haven´t read yet.

"and, of course, the sheer magnificence that is Jesus Christ Superstar."
No surprise there......you could be the main lead......thanks Mr Gorber.

Hey Jason, just wanted to say that I love these. I don't always agree with you but it's so fun to watch regardless. Based solely on these clips Scott (what's his last name?) might possibly be my favorite news guy.

Great to see you and Twitch on TV!

hmm.. i dont think the Last Temptation of Christ is very Easter friendly.

  • define "Easter Friendly"... It's quite literally the narrative that Easter is meant to commemorate...
