Twitchvision: Talking IDENTITY THIEF, SIDE EFFECTS, TOP GUN 3D, And More

Jason Gorber, Featured Critic
Back in the studio this week, talking about the egregious hell that is Identity Thief, my ambivalence towards Side Effects, and the cinematic rush of Top Gun 3D, along with some words about A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III.

"Back in the studio this week, talking about the egregious hell that is Identity Thief"

Damn.....you really hate this film, huh, Mr Gorber...?

Well.....I shall seek this one out....one day.

"and the cinematic rush of Top Gun 3D"
I always heard that postconverting sucked.......but in this case it worked...?
And in IMAX.......well......great to see a nice piece of 80´s cheese getting it´s proper dues.........add some great tunes by Kenny Loggins.......ahhhhhhh.
I hope they give you more time in the future Mr Gorber, and that Todd Brown, or Kurt Halfyard, could be there with you.....would be nice to see some heated debates over films and whatnot....thanks, Mr Gorber.

  • My regular viewer! I've got a way longer answer to the "post-convert sucks" fallacy, but that's another long form rumination I've got cooking up. Here's a tease - in many ways, post-covert is superior to in-camera 3D, and many of the films you consider to be "pure" in-camera 3D setups actually have a significant percentage of 2D>3D work done in post. For more details on this, you'll have to tune in later...

But, yeah, seriously, go see TOP GUN in IMAX 3D. It's fabbo.

    Wot....?

Ok......and here I was told by several....errrr...."experts" that post convert sucks.....

Yeah.....write that article Mr Gorber.....but of course, it may be too technical for my brain......

    Well.....Top gun 3D reaches Sweden...who knows.
