The UK to be Schooled in Its ABCs (OF DEATH) This April

James Marsh, Asian Editor
Monster Pictures has announced that it will release epic horror anthology The ABCs of Death theatrically in the UK and Eire on 26 April 2013. The film, which features 26 short films from 26 of the world's most exciting up-and-coming genre filmmakers, each depicting one letter of the alphabet, boasts an impressive roll call of talent, many of whom have been championed on these pages over the years.

This messy menagerie of mayhem is the brainchild of Ant Timpson and Tim League, and was helped along its way to the big screen by folks like Marc Walkow and our very own Todd Brown. Participating filmmakers include Ben Wheatley (Kill List), Jason Eisener (Hobo With a Shotgun), Iguchi Noboru (Dead Sushi), Nishimura Yoshihiro (Tokyo Gore Police), Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes), Adrian Garcia Bogliano (Cold Sweat) and many more besides. Some segments are horrific, others hilarious, but all of them worthy of your time.

The ABCs of Death will receive its UK premiere at Film4 FrightFest Glasgow later this month, in Ireland at the inaugural Twisted Celluloid Film Festival, before opening on 26 different screens across the region on 26 April 2013. Monster Pictures will then be releasing the film on Blu-ray and DVD on 3 June 2013.

I totally agree with you Thundercross.... however "X is for XXL" by Xavier Gans was amazing. "G is for Gravity" might be the worst short film i've ever seen... no way this thing cost 5000,-. Shame on whoever made that piece of crap.

  • Mehaillien Thundercross

This anthology was so lame, I honestly don't know why it has been getting so much attention.
