STAR WARS: Harrison Ford Rumored To Return As Han Solo

Peter Martin, Managing Editor

Harrison Ford was previously said to be "open" to the idea of returning as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII, and now a new rumor claims that he's locked and loaded for the picture.

The report in November 2012 indicated that Ford wouldn't "go to the next level of contract talks until there's a script and director in place. Either could be a deal breaker." Since then, Michael Arndt has been announced as the writer and J.J. Abrams as director. Ford's professional relationship with Abrams tracks back as far as 1991's Regarding Henry, which Abrams wrote; Abrams also served as a producer on 2010's Morning Glory.

Next, I suppose we can expect more rumors about Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher ...

I hope they all star in the movies. The originals are the best .to put stand ins would be stupid .come on mark hamill go for it.

I'm pretty certain that Harrison Ford is doing it for his fan base and he knows that Star Wars fans want him to return. The whole point of the "frozen in carbonite" plot in "Empire" was because he wasn't certain if he wanted to return for a 3rd movie because he didn't like the character that much. The original script had everyone escaping safely.

Hamill, definitely. Fisher? As sexist as it may sound, I think the years have not been as kind to her as they have to Luke and Han, so I can see Abrams working his way around that one. It's a tired observation, but I'm still completely baffled as to why Lucas didn't just bring them back for proper sequels in 1999. Such a wasted opportunity.
