Amir Shervan's 1989 cult hit - very much of the 'so bad it's good' variety - has been newly restored from the original 35mm negative and is headed to DVD from Cinema Epoch. What wonders await? Check the trailer below.

This is great news! Can't wait to get my hands on a copy, I did notice that Cinema Epoch recently had youtube take down the full length versions of Samurai Cop, so this makes perfect sense.

Also, there are still 2 lost films of Amir Shervan's that still need to be unearthed: Young Rebels and Gypsy. I have a reliable source claiming to have both tapes in storage and will be sending them to me to publish online when he has time to hunt them down. With any luck we'll have them by the end of the year.

This looks exactly the same as the DVD that's been around for years, only with a different cover. What I mean is the transfer looks the same.

And you would know this how? This version hasn't released it. They've taken a new transfer direct from the negative.

This is an absolute jewel of dreadful cinema! Priceless performances from Robert Z'Dar and Matt "I'm almost Sylvester Stallone" Hannon, idiotic plot and dialog ("I have to change the trash"), lame action sequences--it's brilliantly awful.

If the negative still exists it's certainly possible. It's an HD remaster, too, so there ought to be either a 2k or 4k digital source (or both) available now as well.

There will be a 35mm print struck from the neg soon,I ought to know,I am the person who located the negatives,they were gathering dust for decades in a private vault and they are in astonishingly good condition,with little or no damage !
