Twitchvision: Talking MAMA, THE LAST STAND And Oscar Preview

Twitch is proud to announce a new a new regular video series, Twitchvision! On a weekly basis I'll be pontificating on Canada's Nationally Broadcast CTV News Channel. The live broadcast is at 7:30pm EST on Sunday nights, and on Monday mornings we'll post links for your viewing pleasure.

This week the host Scott Laurie and I chatted about Mama's box office success, The Last Stand's disappointing bow, Silver Linings Playbook's rise in prominence and Chastain and Lawrence keeping the Oscar Actress race alive. I also once again promoted my desire for Roger Deakins to finally get his trophy for Skyfall, even if it remains the odds-on fav for the likes of Lincoln or Life of Pi to take the prize.

Don´t know if you knew this, but The Last Stand (2013) did NOT get a theatrical debut here in Sweden.
Too bad....would have been fun to see, they should give you more time on this program though....I think it is too short...anyway, thanks Mr Gorber.

Du är svensk? Fitta... If you're a native speaker, I'm once again made miserable by the command of a second language that you and your fellow countrymen employ.

I often tell a story about a group of Swedish friends that I went to school with in Southern France - they were drunk (shocking!) and their native tongue was a sloppy mess, and any semblance of French (which we were supposed to be learning) had long passed by any semblance of coherence.

Yet in perfect English, they were having a heated debate about whether Hannibal Lecter was a psychopath or a sociopath.

It was depressing.
