It's A Trap! Snyder Says No STAR WARS

[Snyder says nope, no Star Wars movies of any sort on his plate.]

Are you ready for the Star Wars franchise to branch out a bit? Because, while the animated Star Wars world has been embracing 'side' stories and parts of the cosmology outside of the principal Skywalker storyline for years now, the live action world is about to do the same.

What's coming? ABC - who, like Lucasfilm, are owned by Disney - have already acknowledged that they are looking at the long gestating live action television series Lucasfilm has been developing over the past several years. And now Vulture brings word that 300 and Man Of Steel director Zack Snyder is developing a live action Star Wars feature that will most likely fall outside of the planned third trilogy. One thing is certain, it's not Episode VII.

Said to be heavily inspired by Kurosawa's Seven Samurai, the film will reportedly fall somewhere post Return Of The Jedi in the overall Star Wars chronology and will revolve around a band of Jedi warriors, meaning the Jedi Council has to be re-established sometime between now and then. No other details have come out as yet but given Lucas' outspoken love for Kurosawa this makes rather a lot of sense as subject matter goes.

Eh... Fuck it, why not? This shit hasn't been sacrosanct since 1997 in my opinion.

  • I sincerely believe that Disney is going to do a far better job of protecting / developing the Star Wars universe than Lucas has done since Empire.

    Agreed.

I already can see some lightsabers lightning up in super slow-mo. Also, the trailer will be fantastic. Just the trailer.
