Directors Derek Van Gorder and Otto Stockmeier set themselves and interesting challenge with their scifi short C: 299, 792 km/s. The set out to make a classically styled space opera using nothing but classic effects. That is to say the duo used no CGI or green screen effects at all, choosing instead to execute the entire film using nothing but in-camera optical effects.
We've been tracking the project since 2011 and now is the time when we actually get to see it. The full film has just been released online, check it out below.C is the story of Lieutenant Commander Malleck, and her radical act of mutiny aboard the KESTROS IV. With the help of her co-conspirators, she attempts to harness this weapon of mass destruction for a grand new purpose. But when a contingent of ground crew led by Second Lieutenant Kai threatens her master plan, Malleck must use the ship against them in order to succeed.
