Get Behind The Scenes Of Stephen Chow's JOURNEY TO THE WEST

Huayi Bros have released a making-of video for Stephen Chow's Journey to the West with Chow directing Shu Qi in a comedic performance. It's amusing to see him get animated, but unfortunately he will be applying his "Mo lei tau" humor mostly behind the camera rather than in front of it, as it's been reported that he will only take a minor role so he can concentrate on directing.

You'll find the making-of video (No English subtitles) embedded below. The fantasy-comedy arrives in during the Spring Festival in 2013.

how is this in mandarin?? the jokes wont even be as funny

  • Because Mandarin is an inherently unfunny language? That's a pretty ridiculous statement.

I'm sure this will be a great film due to Stephen Chow's creativity alone. Give this a chance. He's never directed a bad film before and I don't think he'll start now.

I'm so disappointed that Chow no longer plays the lead role. Does anyone know if Shu Qi play the main character? I hope not...

  • a stephen chow movie shot in mandarin is worse then 100000 AIDS, fuck this film

  • Jack Fancy

    Bad Troll, bad!

Knowing Chinese helps make his movies better but really you don't need it with his excellent directing and acting (too bad he won't be in it very much)!
