Ryan Gosling's MONSTER Adds Ben Mendelsohn

One of Australia's greatest actors, Ben Mendelsohn, is finally getting his due, and the stream of news about each of his new roles is coming so thick and fast that I've finally learnt how to spell his name without checking IMDb. Now comes news that Mendo has been cast in Ryan Gosling's directorial debut How to Catch a Monster, which begins shooting in May.

How to Catch a Monster is the story of a mother (Christina Hendricks) of two sons, one of whom discovers a secret underwater town. With mother in tow, young Bones enters the dark, macabre place he's stumbled upon. Mendelsohn has had a stellar 2012, with key roles in The Dark Knight Rises and Killing Them Softly

Here's hoping Mendo plays a Boss Nass style character in the underwater town.
