Trailer And Clip For Kerry Prior's THE REVENANT
Here's the thing about being undead: You can afford to wait around a little. Fans were no doubt expecting a release of Kerry Prior's excellent horror-comedy The Revenant back when it was winning awards on the festival circuit a couple years back, which didn't happen for a few reasons. But it's happening now, with a limited theatrical and VOD release coming next Friday, August 24th. And, weirdly, the film is arguably more topical now than it was when it was first winning raves.
In a world flush with undead flicks The Revenant is set apart by a few things. First, it is far more complex and socially aware than the synopsis or even the trailer really let on. Second, Prior has found a totally unique perspective on the phenomenon, an increasingly rare occurrence that goes a long way to breathing life into the proceedings. And, third, the performances from the two leads are simply excellent, absolutely top drawer stuff. For an example of that see the clip that lies below, just under the trailer. This breakout horror comedy centers around a fallen soldier who somehow finds he has joined the ranks of the living dead. Bart Gregory (Anders) has just recently been laid to rest - so why is he still up and walking around? The only person Bart can turn to for answers is his best friend Joey (Wylde), and before long the two pals have surmised that blood is life. In order to survive, Bart requires a steady supply of it.
Convinced that no one will miss the drug dealers and killers who have transformed LA into a swirling cesspool of crime and vice, the two friends decide to do law enforcement a favor by cleaning up the streets while collecting the precious blood needed to keep poor Bart from withering away into dust!
