Disney Cancels Henry Selick's Untitled Stop Motion Feature

Todd Brown, Founder and Editor
With a year of production work already in the can and an October 2013 release date in the books, Disney have decided they'd rather not back Coraline director Henry Selick's as-yet-untitled new stop motion animated film after all.

Deadline report that Disney have pulled the plug on the project amid rumors of story issues with Selick being given the option of trying to find a new studio home for the picture.

This is obviously a direct blow to Selick fans who have been waiting to see this picture but also has farther reaching implications as Selick was meant to direct an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book for Disney following completion of this film. I can't imagine that the relationship between Selick and the studio are at their highest point right now.

That sucks man...Mr. Selick is an amazing artist. Probably Disney didn´t think the subject matter will go well with their coca-cola/MacEvil tie ins. Hope he finds new financing.
