Anurag Kashyap's GANGS OF WASSEYPUR II Trailer Promises More Bloodshed
Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur just keeps the hits coming. Following a very successful debut at the Cannes Director's Fortnight in its unabridged 5 hour version, plus two high profile film festival placements, one in New York and one in London, and a very successful regular theatrical run in India as part one of a two part film, we finally get a look at what to expect from the conclusion of the Gangs of Wasseypur epic with this new trailer.
In spite of massive media coverage both in India and abroad, the film has not released overseas, leaving film fans outside of India foaming at the mouth. I've tried to get release information out of anyone and everyone, but nobody's talking. Best case scenario is that the film is already in negotiations for overseas release and they just waiting for the right time to make the announcement. I'm pinning my hopes on that, even though every new set of zipped lips makes me more and more anxious.
This second trailer is a doozy, I don't know what they're feeding the trailer cutters in India, but I want some. Apparently, the epic concludes with everyone in India being shot, blown up, punched, getting high, dancing, screaming, and generally going insane. I have no clue what's going on, but I want it inside my head as soon as possible.
The banner above shows the Indian domestic release date for Gangs of Wasseypur II, August 8th, though, as I said, there is no date scheduled for any overseas release yet.
